It’s been something of a lazy, nay, decadent two weeks since my last triathlon. I’ve had a few runs, never more than about 5 miles, and one or two bike rides. But I’ve also drunk too much and eaten shite. So today it’s back to proper training again, and eating properly, and cutting down on the booze. Started the morning with a 4 mile run (angry dogs, mist, rain, dead sheep — brilliant!), and already I feel great. Long may it continue!
Later today, I’ll be creating a training schedule to take me up to Christmas. I’ll post more about that once it’s done. After that the dedicated Ironman training kicks in (at present I’m probably going to follow the Fink plan, but I’m also reading Going Long which seems a little more flexible … I think the actual plan I follow will be a combination).
I’ve also entered a half-marathon for the end of November! It’ll be hilly and muddy, a lot of fun, and it’s something to train hard for between now and then.
I also have a meeting/swim trial with my local triathlon club NEWTs at the beginning of November.
